Editor buttons lights
Lights is the final step in making your mission look polished. Shadowgrounds has nice lighting options and all of these are available to you.

Editor menu lights Ah, the lights. Lighting takes time to create but the end result will be extremely good looking, and you will congratulate yourself when you see the final result. There are a lot of options here, but the most used lights are simple to set up.

Shadow caster properties -

Projection plane size, which means the four sliders with colors on the left, affects the Shadow caster's area (or "plane size"). You can also adjust these on the editing screen by using the mouse. Strength slider affects the light's strength, meaning how much light is emitted.

Height slider affects the light's height, so for high lamps etc, you want to set the height match the real lamp position.

Lightmapped means that this light will be calculated to the lightmap. This is useful when you just want to set general lighting for the terrain/outdoors. If the light has a real life source (like a lamp object) then you should consider the next option, Pointlight. Does the terrain also get shadows? MORE INFO Pointlight means that the light acts like a real light would, meaning that it affects everything, and also makes the player have a shadow from the light. Building ...

Display - affects the display settings; Enable group MORE INFO, Visualization determines whether or not the lights are highlighted in the editor or not - this is very important! If visualization is not turned on, you will not see any lights you place, so if you are frustrated with nothing happening on the screen, check this option first. Detail slider affects the light details (when the Apply ambient setting is turned on in the Scene section), Shadows turns on or off the shadows casted by the shadowcasters. Sync makes a re-sync... New controls for Lights mode:

* PageUp and PageDn raise or lower the height of an object
* Arrow keys move lights
* Mouse click selects an object (and deselects)
